​Home is Here! is a TV program that focuses on showcasing the different countries and cultures that make up Manitoba’s cultural diversity.  On the program, we talk about the stories that have shaped individuals, families and communities in our province. Every country represented in our province brings a unique strength to the cultural fabric that makes Manitoba stand out.

HiH-Season 1 Episode 1 : Netherlands

The Dutch United Provinces declared their independence from Spain in 1579. With a population of over 16,000,000 people, the Netherlands is located in Western Europe, bordering the North Sea, between Belgium and Germany.

​The climate is that of  cool summers and mild winters. The terrain is mostly coastal lowland and some hills in southeast. 

Dutch is the official language of the the Netherlands.

HiH-Season 1 Episode 2 : Kenya

Founding president and liberation struggle icon Jomo KENYATTA led Kenya from independence in 1963 until his death in 1978, when President Daniel MOI took power in a constitutional succession. With just over 45,000,000 people, Kenya is located in Eastern Africa, bordering the Indian Ocean, between Somalia and Tanzania. the climate varies from tropical along coast to arid in the interior. The terrain is bisected by the Great Rift Valley and fertile plateau in the west.

HiH-Season 1 Episode 3 : Belize

Belize was the site of several Mayan city states until their decline at the end of the first millennium A.D. Territorial disputes between the UK and Guatemala delayed the independence of Belize until 1981. With a population of just over 350,000 Belize is located in Central America, bordering the Caribbean Sea, between Guatemala and Mexico. The climate is tropical, very hot and humid and the rainy season is from May to November and the dry season from February to May. The terrain is flat and swampy with low mountains in the south.​

English official is their official language.

HiH-Season 1 Episode 4 : Nigeria

British influence and control over what would become Nigeria and Africa's most populous country grew through the 19th century. A series of constitutions after World War II granted Nigeria greater autonomy; independence came in 1960. With a population of just under 200,000,000 people, Nigeria is located in Western Africa, bordering the Gulf of Guinea, between Benin and Cameroon. The climate varies; equatorial in the south, tropical in the centeral part and arid in north. The terrain consists of southern lowlands which merge into central hills and plateaus; mountains in the southeast and plains in the north​
